Hypercar Performance – LMGT3 Performance – Class Closeness
Lap Chart

Practice and race positions, retirements, race distance, and the song can be found on the hourly positions page.
Relative Performance– Hypercar
The good old Top 10 and Top 60%, with bonus Top 20%. it won’t be that relevant that is for BoP, but interesting to see in the context of this race.

- Ferrari, Porsche, Peugeot, and Cadillac are with 0.6% (Top 38 laps)
- Wet weather extends the variation by adding another variable – changing conditions.

A few examples of the pace through the race from a lead car of different teams.
The speed improves as track conditions improve. Early running behind SC doesn’t fit on the scale.

A two driver approach:

Sectors
As in practice Peugeot doing well in S1.

Speed Trap
And it is Peugeot that scores here too, explaining the S1 speed. There is a big spread here.

Drivers
Very much dependent on when you where in the car, but the Cadillac drivers feature.

Relative Performance– LMGT3

Again, daft scale, but data is below.

A closer spread in GT3 than Hypercar.
Sectors
Lexus was strong in S1 and S3, not as strong in the longer S2.

Several cars, including the top 2 shown, put on dry tyres at the end and it shows! They were close to the Hypercar lap times!

Rigon in the #54 did the best from fitting dry tyres and finished first on the road, but was disqualified for the contact made while getting there.

The Mustang did not change to wets, was leading with five laps to go, but could not resist the cars on slicks.

Speed Trap
Lexus and Ford not at the top for this wet race.

Drivers
Some drivers did hardly any non-SC and better condition running.

How close was it for both classes?
Another terrible race in this golden age of sportscar racing. It speaks wonders to the professionalism of the teams that they keep it so consistent, and also to the drivers who, mostly, all perform at a higher standard.
It should be remembered that São Paulo is a relatively short track, so these are of the order of 0.5% standard deviation in lap times.

Not that bad considering for the Top 38:
