BoP – FIA WEC Fuji

Rain Delays Update

The approach for this race is to move forward with the BoP set for COTA with only some small tweeks. COTA was wet throughout, with only a few tentatively trying dry tyres towards the end in Hypercar. These small changes raise a question…

So let’s, for completeness and to see if we can understand anything, look at the changes for Fuji. Let’s do it quickly so we can move on and watch some racing.

  • No weight changes
  • Small low speed and high speed power changes.

Are these circuit dependent, or is it a result of some small learnings from the COTA running?

Power:Weight

The adjustments are small and driven by power adjustments.

The methodology is different for Le Mans, hence the general reversal of the Le Mans BoP.

Alpine gets a boost here.

Weight

No changes!

Power <250kph

The question here is are these changes due to some information gleaned from COTA, are they a circuit adjustment, or a bit of both? To a certain extent it reverses some of the adjustments made for COTA. Something about accelerating out of slower corners that is common for Sao Paulo and Fuji?

Every gains except Aston.

Power >250kph

Everyone gains – there is a little bit of a (anti-)correlation with the movement for COTA.

Long Term Tables/Charts

For reference here are the BoP tables for power and weight going back to the beginning of time.

Replenishment Rate

FIA WEC don’t publish this, but have the same as IMSA. Have you not worked this out yet, it’s basic maths.
