Bahrain Friday Practice

A quick look at Practice Performance.

Hypercar

The average lap times

009 hits the top. Toyota and Peugeot is close. Toyota seems more consistent the more laps you include.

Ranked by Top 25.
Note: these include deleted laps for track limits and pitlane violations. There were quite a few of these, including the fastest lap of all by BMW #20.

Lots of short stints for Aston Martin #009.

Toyota was going with longer stints.

All seem to indicate tyre deg might be something to manage in the race. Michelin have brought the medium and hard compounds as last year1.

Fastest laps came very early in both free practice sessions. fp2 was the one were everyone tried harder for qualifying practice.

Top Speed

Frenchies at the top. Toyota makes a surprise appearance here.

Lappery

#15 started fp1 late, so was down there. #99 didn’t get any running in fp2 due to a wiring issue that they couldn’t solve in time1.

Sectors

Peugeot – Toyota – Aston Martin share the spoils. Porsche #99 bottom everywhere.

LMGT3

The old Mercedes to the top.

Unlike Hypercar there is more of a mix between sessions when fastest laps are set, but they still tend to come early in a session.

#88 put in some of its fastest laps in the middle of the session. It can be more mixed up in GT as the Ams get a go.

A bit on in and out of the pits before what looks like a qualifying practice run for teh silver Gehrsitz in #78.

Speed Trap

As is often the case, Ford and Lexus up at the top

Lappery

#92 Manthey Porsche leads the way as it has in previous Friday practices! It is what it does! #87 Lexus didn’t get much lapping in, but #78 was quick.
