Professional Approach to Practice Lappery

BMW had the pace in the build-up. In fp1 despite a dislodged power steering hose, Jan Magnussen’s third-place No. 74 Corvette was the fastest non-BMW car. The Corvettes had an eye on the race from the start. BMW #55 did too, running the most laps in build-up, but it couldn’t resist going for pole with Farfus.
Raymond Narac crashed #76 Porsche on his fourth lap into the tyres at Porsche Curves. Practice was red flagged for 18 minutes. This limited its laps in fp1 and stopped any further running on Wednesday. It was back out on Thursday and qualified 16th in class, but ended the pre-race sessions with the lowest number of laps of all GT cars.
#56 BMW also had no q3 running after a crash in q2. It went off on gravel spread by GTE-Am #62 Robertson Racing Ford spin in the Ford chicane. This didn’t stop it getting third in class with a time set only 18 minutes into q1.
Luxury Racing #58 Ferrari had limited q3 running after an incident with the #009 Aston Martin at Mulsanne corner. This also brought out a red flag. It’s sister car #59 had no q3 running. They had an action packed Le Mans week…

In warm-up #71 AF Corse Ferrari went out, but stopped on Mulsanne with a mechanical issue.
